Reno exhaust/Midpipe

Postby bomfunkbud on Sat Jan 30, 2010 3:30 am

I pre-ordered the exhaust and midpipe. I purchased a dual tip model of the exhaust and the midpipe, turns out the model was test fitted on a Forenza, which left the exhaust being about 5 inches too long past the rear bumper and the bumper had to be cut in order to fit the muffler if the dual tip was cut off it would be a great length but the bumper would still need to be cut. Where the muffler comes through the rear bumper, it vibrates because the muffler rattles against it. The midpipe doesn't have an O2 port/input hole on it, so I didn't get the midpipe installed and I couldn't even install the whole exhaust because the midpipe and catalytic converter are 1 piece and because there is no 02 sensor port on the midpipe I couldn't get the whole exhaust installed. Where the exhaust meets with the catalytic converter the exhaust sometimes hits the floorboards when accelerating because where the exhaust bolts to the cat, the angle of the tubing is at a weird angle and vibrates against the floorboard. I do feel a power-gain with the exhaust installed though, I don't think it is worth the money or the way it looks though, be sure to wait until the exhaust gets redone.
EFauto is telling me that I shouldn't have installed the exhaust and because I did they will not refund me for any piece that was installed. I have been emailing them, but only got a response to my first email, telling me that I shouldn't have installed it, but they would refund me for the midpipe because it hasn't been installed but if I want they will give me $20 to get an O2 sensor hole installed in the midpipe.
I do understand that this was a brand new product, but the customer service provided for their mistake is very poor.
